About Us

Kyong-Mi Dillard operates this blog.  She is the wife of Trevor Dillard.  Here's a little background behind their hiking adventures.

Kyong-Mi~

Kyong-Mi is a Southern Californian native, born in the Valley, grew up in Long Beach, Huntington Beach and Westminster.  She has lived in Hawai‘i and Oregon. She took photography in high school and has always had a great eye for capturing nature.  She doesn't use professional equipment for photography, but does the best she can with her point and shoot and/or cell phone.

As a young girl, she went on many exploring adventures with her father into the San Gabriel Mountains, the Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino Mountains, Riverside, and the San Andreas fault.  She would go off-roading, panning for gold, looking for shell casings and bullet fragments for her father who reloaded bullets, and would shoot rifles and pistols at targets with her father.  These adventures have made her enthusiastic about hikes.

Kyong-Mi is very much into animals.  She formerly donated to Greenpeace every month.  However, she's squeamish when it comes to snakes and bugs.

Trevor~

Trevor is O'ahu grown.  He was born in Washington and raised in Hawaii.  Other states he has briefly lived in were Idaho, Oklahoma, Oregon and now he lives in California.  Trevor loves to cook and drive.  Many of the hiking locations they go to, Trevor drives.  He loves exploring new territory.

Trevor did a lot of hiking in Hawaii, growing up, and even built a fence along the Poamoho Ridge Trail on O'ahu, while an inmate.

Trevor loves nature and especially the smell of the ocean and the view of a beautiful waterful.
